Spectacular Dimensions is the artwork of
Michael Baroto, Special Costume and Puppet Designer, seen here surrounded by an
exhibition of some of the whimsical Special Costume Characters, Puppets, Dolls, Masks
and Ventriloquist Figures he has created for both the entertainment industry:
Theater, Film,
and Television, and the Connoisseur,
Collector, and Aficionado. The scope of his
creativity ranges from tiny toy maquettes and prototypes to giant parade
creatures including the carnivorous Audrey II from the
'Little Shop of Horrors'.
|
Here you will see his original one-of-a-kind celebrity caricature doll of Liza
Minnelli, a prototype mask of Sylvester Stallone, as the legendary Pecos Bill, and the
mascot design of Racey Raccoon created and produced for Saugus Speedway. Then there are
two, soft sculpture dolls of Laurel and Hardy, a hand puppet bunny and the prototype dolls
of Col. Moon and Dream, from his original children's fantasy entitled
'The First Little
Girl on the Moon' © 1984. Finally, the animated models of Shere Khan, the tiger, and Kaa,
from 'The Jungle Book', flank a larger-than-life Mardi Gras mask of Mephistopheles to
complete the effect.
This representation spans more than a decade of design and technical achievements by
Michael Baroto in polyurethane foam, natural and synthetic rubber, Papier-Mache, resin and
various other materials.
